Economy Drive is Bull Shit

I was given the task to cut 5% of our expenditure/budget. Economy Drive, my boss harks.

Yet, they just went ahead to host a performing arts event at the Esplanade just to "give our students the chance to perform at a world class venue". Better still, due to a lack of response, the tickets will be priced to not even cover the cost. I argued that no one sells tickets to lose to no avail.

This reasoning is crap. I am sure Victoria Theater is cheaper! Don't you hate it when your superiors ask you to do one thing and they does exactly the opposite? And all they need to justify is find one lame excuse because they are the boss. Talk about helicopter vision.

I am sure we are all going to Abilene.

Cut Waste is Bull Shit

Today I witness thousands of paper being wasted to send invitations of our school Open House through snail-mail when a simple crafted e-mail would suffice. Sending through snail-mail would need:

1. Paper
2. Toners
3. Envelopes
4. Stamps
5. Labour to do all of the above.

I queried the Vice-principal and the teacher-in-charge and they agreed sending an e-mail was the way to go. And when I tell the person doing the addressing job that they might not use the printed invitations any more, she broke down because it was a full day work. Shucks, should have kept my mouth shut.
